I would say it depends on his general interests and any hobbies. Does he like tinkering with stuff, lounging around or doing other things and what's the spending limit?
Easiest might be to give him a Camping World catalog and a gift card and then he can peruse all the eye candy and find something that really appeals to himself.
How about a La Jolla plush recliner. Most comfortable recliner for camping out there.
He is a tinkerer who is not really one to sit still, but I try to make him do it here and there.
