Honestly, door or curtain doesn't change how much sound transmits between them. We run the AC fan all night for white noise when the kids are sleeping.

Maybe you are right. I could probably live with the bunkhouse having a door only. The noise was the concern, and if you are saying it isn't an issue, then a curtain may work.
