Yeah, that can be the case with fittings in an RV. The maker may twist on the pipe fitting and then crimp to the barb. When I replumbed my trailer, I installed supply line valves on all of the fixture supplies and used standard braided steel supply hoses for the last foot of run. In the event of a dripping or broken fixture, I have the option of using the supply valve and disassembly will be easier. Don't know if I'll ever take advantage of that because I cleaned and rebuilt all the faucets, using new washers. I have the old school, threaded brass stem faucets with the cup washers. They turn nicer and seal as good as the newer stuff in my house.
