Please pardon my ignorance. I'm sure this is simple but this forum is how I learn!I replaced my toilet with a new Dometic and I need some help on the plumbing. On the original toilet the water line came out of the wall behind it and went up towards the ceiling and screwed into the back. On the new toilet the water connection is at the bottom. The line is too long to screw directly into the new toilet so it will need to be cut. I hope the pics show what I am talking about. What connections would I need to make the water line fit this toilet?

simple fix, cut the fitting off, take it with you to Lowes and get a new fitting, and resize the hose. The fittings are basically the same as home fixture connectors. Make sure you turn the water off!

Thank you for the reply. How does the fitting attach to the line after I cut it? The blue hose is pretty tough. Is it some special type of clamp? The attachment will include the part that screws on to the threads of the toilet?

You can go to any of the big-box stores and get a "Shark-bite" fitting that will attach to the cut pipe and have the female threaded end to attach to the toilet's male threads. You can also install a valve into the supply run that will permit you to turn off the water to the toilet. That may be something you wish to have should you have a problem with the toilet and need to work on it or replace it. With a valve, you don't need to shut down the water supply to the rest of the trailer.If you plan to replace more of your plumbing fixtures or anticipate modifying other supply lines, you can forgo the easy Shark-bite fitting and buy the necessary crimping tool and crimp rings to attach all manner of plumbing fittings. For a one-off job, the Sharkbite fittings are hard to beat.

Great information, thank you very much. Is the fitting on the left what I am looking for? I have not been able to find a fitting with a shut-off valve which I would rather have.

If that fitting is rated for PEX, then it should work, assuming it is the correct size thread. Shark Bite, Gator Bite, (and Lowes has it's own house brand now) are all quick connect PEX fittings.

Thought I would finish off this thread. Thank you for the help guys, I really appreciate it. Got the new full size toilet installed along with a shut-off valve for the toilet using the Shark-bite fitting.

I decided to start with this...

If I don't cut off too much it should work. If I mess the cut up or there is too much stress on where the connector screws on to the toilet I will go the flexible hose route I guess. Glad I have a lot of slack to work with.

I just did this to my trailer. You are going to like the Dometic toilet. It was quite an upgrade. I had the same issue you had and solved my problem by getting the 90 elbow similar to the one in your picture. My supply line lined up nicely so all I had to do was to measure and cut the line, slip it into the fitting and hook it up. A rather simple project.

I suppose this would work if your supply line was far away from the new hook up. It would save you having to buy a bunch of fittings. I also wanted to preserve the shutoff valve but didn't see the need. If I am having trouble I can simply turn off the water pump and fix things.

I would cap that blue pex line with a push-on valve fitting similar to above pic. Then use a flexible supply line from valve to fixture. Same as you have at home. Lowes/Home Depot has it all.
