Mar 29, 2018My daily driver is a Megacab dually. It's not any more difficult to drive in a city than a SRW. I have a 60 mile round trip commute through Houston roads and freeways. If a bus can get down a road then so can you in a DRW. We don't have problems navigating towns with minimum width lanes. Just takes a bit more concentration when lanes are that narrow.
There's no difference between the turning radius between the two. The ride is pretty much the same. The only difference I've even seen is that duallys can handle potholes better sometimes. Fuel mileage will be the same. Tires can still be rotated with a DRW. Ram specifies a simple rotation where the tires just change sides (left to right, right to left). I park all of my vehicles at the back of the lot to avoid car doors, baskets, and morons who can't park to save their life. However, I can fit a DRW in a regular spot if I wanted.
I've never crushed a fender or curb tires really. This can be an issue with those who are driving a DRW for the first time. At first just drive it like you have a trailer attached and you'll never get too close to the curb. After a while you'll start to understand where the hips will end up while turning.
