3.42's would be a breeze to tow in 6th with those weights. With my 29K and 3.42's I towed in 6th when on flat or slightly hilly ground with no issue. I did find overall I got better mpg dropping to 5th.
The AISIN with it's lower starting gears and the fact you get a more powerful Cummins is the secret to towing heavy with 3.42's! The towing chart that is SAE rated proves my point! Also my past experience scales the deal for me.
The 3.73's will work but overall the 3.42's or 4.10's will be better depending on what side of 29K combined you are.
