I still want someone, anyone, to point out what I’m apparently missing in the towing guide. Everyone seems to have a “my way is best” viewpoint but I genuinely want to know why 3.73 is a BAD choice given that I want the ability to tow up to 25,000 pounds.
I for one was not aware that the primary purpose of your truck was to tow a 20,000 to 25,000 lb trailer. I don't think you made that clear. On occasion I tow up to 30,000 lb trailers with my SRW Ford and it works out great, but, if the primary use of my truck was for towing 30,000 lbs I would have bought a different truck. Anyway if you bought the truck primarily for towing 20k to 25k lbs you followed the Ram engineers recommendation.
