New ( Disappointed ) Venture Sport Trek Owner 322vbh

So after much looking around at different models/ brands of RV's. We decided on a Sport trek. Looked great, finish was good. 6/18/2018
So doing the PDI didnt notice anything wrong. other than we requested a second AC unit to be installed. ( found out Venture does NOT prewire for 2nd AC ) had the chance to back out then! and should have!

So.. we get the unit home. First issue, it was pooping the breaker on the house (20 amp) that our old camper used to plug into for years! Installed new 30amp, changed plug to heaver plug in. Camper started throwing the AC breaker on the camper.

Outside Kitchen Door. after a few times of opening, it started to hang up, misaligned. ( this turns into a MAJOR problem later)

Walking across the floor it started to squeak and could feel a give ( spongy ) also noticed the same by the bathroom wall heat duct.

Awning edge came loose pulling on the little wires.

And of course the **** sawdust every time you move the TT!!

ANd the outside kitchen not plumbed to the grey tank on the camper? WTF!! run a hose to where? Illegal to improperly tap into your drain without a p trap, cant dump it on the ground??

Yes I know no camper is perfect.

OS kitchen door, Dealer has new one on order, will replace whole thing!
Floor, This is the response from the factory, per factory Chuck King; " the decking on the 322vbh does have a tendency to FLEX in the kitchen area due to the way the floor is constructed "

So we pick camper up after hearing the great news (sarc) that in time Sport Trek will be known for having crappy weak floors! The kitchen door is on order , please bring it by at a later date and dealer can swap it out.

Get the unit home, level not perfect getting ready for a short weekend trip. it starts a downpour outside. I look by the bathroom door and their is water running across the floor! water coming in by the outside bathroom door threshold strip and under the wall. check bedroom, water coming from under bunk drawers, the whole outside kitchen area.
Grab towels, head out in the rain to re hook truck up and tilt camper to the passenger side so to keep water from running through the interior. so not only is camper wet so is my truck!

Can anyone tell me how this is going to turn out?

Or how about a clamp forgotten to attach the gravity fill hose at the wall mounted fill port which is conveniently behind a baffle inside a cabinet so when it finally pops off 3 months after purchase you flood your whole rig while filling the tank?

Sounds like my FR camper. Forgot to tighten the transition fitting between the shower drain line and the P Trap so when my wife showered, most of the water ran down the floor of the unit. Probably was doing it and break time came around and he/she forgot to finish the job.

Amish craftsmanship at it's finest...lol

Was looking at purchasing a Sport Trek but the dealer's lackadaisical attitude put us off. We were serious buyers but the salesman wouldn't call us back, give us any information just didn't seem to care. The unit was overpriced but, nope, can't negotiate. Called the manager and was basically told that business was booming and "buying an RV was different now", whatever the hell that meant. I just laughed and told the manager "good luck" with that business model. Decided to keep our 5 year old Jayco, a **** fine TT.

yes I,d get rid of it, dealers take forever on work, and this rv has lots of problems. just saving a lot of sleepless nights.

For the fun of it I just bought a fairly decent, latest technology cabin tent, cost about 1/100th of the average mass produced fault laden travel trailer. :W Yeah, I know, not apples to apples but geez, why do we all put up with such lousy quality control from these RV manufacturers which without much argument can be qualified overall as "pretty lousy". If my $300 tent leaks (which actually I doubt it will) I sure won't be laying awake at night worrying about it like I would over a brand new $30,000 trailer. :E Man, we RV owners sure are suckers for bait. :R

Geez, this is a brand new 2018 trailer purchased just 6 weeks ago and he's gotta trade it in? :E Yikes, this trailer is under warranty, the manufacturer via it's dealer should be making this right, whatever it takes to fix it. For sure, this is a nightmare but I see no reason the OP should take a hit of any kind.

do yourself a favor bite the bullet trade it off today. as things will not get better with time.. the mold behind that leak should be growing about now.yep gonna hurt but you,ll heal .

IDE gladly pay more for better quality. Such as plugging in the electric water heater element into the wall, or making sure the brakes are 100% operational, or booking up the speaker polarity properly, you know, little things like that!

With the known water issue you of course are not going to take their word that this model just happens to have weak, flexible floor. Since this is a new unit I would either have the dealer or an independent inspect the flooring to see if there isn't already water damage to the floor, and if there is, have the flooring replaced and reinforced in the process.

As others have mentioned water is a serious issue and will only get worse so it's important to get the flooring inspected/replaced now as well as doing something to change the angle of the entrance door threshold, and maybe a door gasket, to prevent anymore water from coming in.
