Interesting point. I agree that it would seem strange to drop a relatively new motor from production. I wonder if details will emerge at the State Fair of TX as per the Ford norm...

P558, includes both the pickup with bed, and the chassis cab. The reference to 3 products rules out KTP, which only makes P558 (Super Duty) and T3 (Exp/Navigator)

P558 is Super Duty pickups. That would indicate KTP not OHAP.

Yup, Ohio Assembly (of which that memo is about) with 3 product lines, 450/550 Chassis cab, E series Chassis cab, and the Medium Duty 650/750 lines will drop the 6.8 and the 6.2. and pick up the 7.3. Note the memo mentions nothing 3.5 used in Kentucky Trucks second production line. The 6.2 should have a good life ahead of it in the 250 and 350 trucks.

I'd be game. I love my 6.8L but could go for a little more torque and a little less fuel consumption.

This is a replacement for the 6.8 V10 which is at end of life, the last of the 90's mod motors still in production. My guess is the 6.2 will stick around, especially in the F-250/350 as it is only 8 years old, and was a new design in 2011. But will be interesting to see what the availability is of this new 7.3 V8. The 6.2 is thirsty as any large V8 will be, but has impressive power in my opinion.

Isn't this about where al the speculation of a 5.0 EcoBoost comes into play?
