Have purchased our first diesel and was wondering what kind of items(parts) I should think about bringing along for our trip to South Dakota in a couple of weeks. The vehicle is a new F350 with the 6.7L Powerstroke.
Thanks for any info you more experienced diesel folks can share.

1. Ensure the truck has at least 1k miles
2. Top off the DEF tank
3. Carry a spare fuel filter and the tools to change them out.
4. Hook up and enjoy your trip.
I've attached a video on how to change the fuel filters on a Super Duty. It's a very easy task and in my 10 years and 250,000 miles driving two diesel trucks I've yet to get my filters clogged.
