I wanted a dually (wish list) but we got the Crew Cab 4x4.
I MUST ADD THAT...when we "test drove" the truck we noticed a "light-on" on the dashboard. We asked about it and the salesman said..."oh..that's the 'low tire pressure' sign...we'll add air later if you buy it.
Being NEW to the truck owner world we had NO IDEA that that would cause a "smoother" ride. I feel like we got duped and we are at a loss for what to do right now.
The tires are 17" and we liked the "bigger, higher" look of the truck (with the cool lights on top) and all in all ...the dealer lowering the tire pressure must of hid the fact the ride would be over the top "stiff".
I don't need for the truck to ride like a car....just not like a sherman tank.
And I'm not sure what "SRW truck" means?
Thanks!
Come on you had no idea that lowering the tire pressure would make the truck ride smother? Or that a 4X4 rides harsher then a two wheel drive? You don't read your owners manuals? Try it sometime, there is a wealth of information in it.
Are far as being "duped", it sounds more like you are feeling buyers remorse, as you keep talking about "there is no cooling off period". Seems maybe you already went back to the dealer thinking you had three days and they informed you that is not the case?
NC reports how great his truck rides BUT he does have the top of the line Longhorn trim. My bet is you have the SLT or maybe Big Horn trim? Big difference in comfort level between the trim levels.
Sure you already found out but SWR = Single Rear Wheel and DRW = Dual Rear Wheel. With your trailer, you do not need the 3500 so maybe take it to a spring shop and discuss your options. Maybe they can install the 2500 springs until you jump into the bigger fiver.
Sorry that you feel the dealership pulled a fast one but if the tire pressure warning light was on and you feel that they lowered the tire pressure to hide the "harsh ride" talk to a attorney and see what he/she thinks. Maybe they will swap you into a two wheel drive truck with little or no money. But you had better park the truck otherwise you won't have a leg the stand on.
