By the way I did not force you to read 19 pages (LOL) and I have not been bickering for 19 pages. When I'm being "quoted" over and over it looks like it.
I'm more "defending" my stance at this point and glad to see a truck enthusiast like Gary Kelderman had the same "ride" experience with a Dodge Cummins and did something about it. We are going to invest in his product.
oh...........and it's not "too bad....nor too sad" BECAUSE......
With disappointment comes INNOVATION!
I never said you forced me to read 19 pages or that all the bickering was you, I just said I couldn't remember what kind/size trailer you haul.
Did you ever watch American Chopper? Mikey used to wear a shirt that says something like, "Anything is possible, it just costs more". You've already dropped good money on your truck, probably in excess of $50,000, without (in my opinion) properly researching your decision. Now you are looking to drop at least another $5,000 on this air ride without ever having tested or ridden in one? You are getting really close to spending DOUBLE what I spent on my truck to pull a trailer roughly the same size.
I agonized for almost 18 months, researching trucks, comparing options and prices, reading up on common complaints/problems, took multiple test drives, talked to people at gas stations, etc etc before I settled on my current truck. I can promise you that I had ZERO surprises (except that the truck is even more fun to drive than I thought it would be) when I bought it. I knew what I would need to do add, take off or change to make it perfectly fit my needs and I knew the cost and labor involved to do such.
Good luck with your current adventure, but in the future you might want to consider educating yourself BEFORE dropping $50,000+ on your next ride. In terms of a test drive and not having enough gas, I would make sure my salesman knows that I am interested in the truck and plan to take a thorough test drive before I sign anything. If they won't put 10 gallons of gas in so that you can drive on local roads, parking lots, highways, off ramps, etc etc than perhaps you need to find a new dealership. FYI, with increased payload usually comes increased "rough handling". Take that into account for the next purchase.
