i run my front tires at 55 lbs and the back at 45 lbs empty.
i do have a mega cab so it will weigh a bit more than a crew cab…
i air up when loaded.. usually 75 front 80 back..
i added 1.5 inches of medium firm foam in the bottom half of the drivers seat. which helped the ride some.. i have considered replacing with better seats as my drivers seat is starting to show extra wear.
i bought and had installed the kelderman 2 stage rear air ride system, right after i bought my truck. jan 1st of 08. this system does not replace the leaf springs, it attaches to the rear spring shackle..
if i was to do anything to my truck, other than replace the seats. it would be to replace the rear suspension with a 4 link air ride system and replace the front springs with an air system.
now that they have an auto leveling system that replaces all of the manually adjusted valves. my truck uses.. the new system uses electronic sensors and dump valves instead of mechanical controlled valves with levers on them to control ride height… the lever controlled valves get damaged when the body is lifted as the lever moves the internal valve beyond it's limits..
with the new system all of that has been eliminated… :-)
also the 4 link bag system will lower the back of the truck about 12" for loading and unloading or hooking up a trailer..
