Okay add this simple math to check out the marketing stuff...while everyone is still playing with marketing nomenclatures...AKA "half ton w Max Tow"..."Half ton w Max Payload"..."Half ton w HDPP"... Maybe someone can post the GVWR"s and RGAWR's for each of those marketing designations...
As for folks thinking the MTWR is an absolute...find your TV's GCWR and subtract the MTWR from it (GCWR - MTWR). Then take the drivers door label listing the weight of 'that' TV. Most will find that the simple math will beget a much lighter weight TV than what they have...why?...because they used a stripper model to derive that MTWR. Marty is about the only guy who owns one of those stripper trucks...most have options from one to all of them and every mix inbetween...
Not sure exactly what you are getting at here :h
For Ford they have the Max Tow option which my truck has and they also offer a Heavy Duty Payload Package they do not offer what is called a Max Payload package maybe other brands do.
But I will do the math you listed above with my tow vehicles (as shown is sig) specs
MTWR 13000 LBS
GCWR 18400 LBS
TRUCKS GVWR from sticker 7050 LBS
TRUCKS GFAWR 3750 LBS
TRUCKS GRAWR 4050 LBS
TRUCKS PAYLOAD from sticker 1701 LBS
18400 - 13000 = 5400
7050 - 1701 = 5349
51 LBS Difference from one another but not really sure what that proves?
