For the record... I have done gear swaps, rear end rebuilds, transfer cases, Motors etc.. I know what is involved to do it right.
I have also unfortunantly cleaned up a shops mess from time to time.
Not sure where you got your numbers, HD, but it was $732 and took about 5 hours. They've been in business for over 40 years and all they do is gear work. The price I got from them was the same thing I got from a racing buddy who owns Allegro Racing so the price appears to be the going rate in this area.
