I bought a Hypertech programmer to update the computer for the new gear ratio. Did not use the performance programming as I did not want a 180 thermostat and 91 gas. I did choose to firm the shift points and reduced the rpm shift points and rpm limiter by 500 rpm. This reduces the tendency to downshift and I see no reason for 5000 rpm shifts when my peak torque is 2500. Also fine tuned the speedometer to match the GPS speed by adjusting the programmed tire size.
From what little research I've done, I've seen it mentioned on some of the GM truck forums that the Hyper Tech did not address the speed sensor problem. I didn't see a post date so maybe they've improved that area of the tune.
As more and more guys are buying brand new pickups and then adding lifts, bigger tires and re-gearing them, the tuner companies are surely working on a better fix for the ABS speed sensor mismatch.
