I do National Parks, State parks, private CG's, and boondock every now and then, there is no way I will pull my 25ft camper down a road that I mite need 4x4 to get out of, I try to take care of my stuff and make it last as long as possible, if I wan't to go down a dirt road I off load the motorcycle and do my exploring.
Ever notice on this forum how many complain about: His generator is too loud, his lights are too bright, his diesel smells and woke me up, his kids cut thru my camp etc, etc.
That doesn't sound like a good time to me. I gotta deal with all that **** at home, I don't need it when I am camping. If I can see another camper.... He is too close.
It has NOTHING to do with taking care of my stuff... Indeed, if going solo as I do, you better take care of your stuff. Breakdowns become a bigger problem when you are alone.
