I'm confused. :@
Can one of you smart people explain something to me?
Tesla builds their own batteries; true? (along with Panasonic)
If true; they really don't have to pay other companies for their batteries; true?
If true, they should have the lowest cost for their batteries; true?
If true, last time I checked their cost/ HW/hr was a little less than $100/KW/hr. (IOW's they have the lowest cost of any company) True?
If true; Tesla's biggest and best X model can't even make it 300 miles without even recharging. Link True?
If true; this little tiny car cost 1 hundred and 40 grand! $140,000 dollars PLUS.....for this tiny car. True? Link True?
Now my question: How in the mutha #$%@#^% hell is this company going to build a big pickup the goes 500 miles on a charge sell it for less that 50K? For even 75K...…………..hell...…………..for even 100K?
How is that going to happen? :h :h :h
Or is this going to be one of those 35K unicorn's again? :B
Great question, I asked myself that question for many many years. My grandpa was an engineer at Mercedes Benz. He made a few calls. It takes a car manufacturer 1700 dollars to produce a normal sedan, it takes mercedes 3000 dollars to produce a Luxury sedan. There are some American equivalents that are made in china under the GM brand, that only cost the end consumer in china 8k but here they cost us 30K.
