RV/CG 50 amp is 120V not 240. It's just two 30 amp 120 circuits.

Most RV parks cannot and will not be allowing the charging of EVs. We have enough trouble delivering reliable service to the RV sites. There is no way the electrical systems can handle the increased loads that EV charging requires. It would require complete reworking of the entire infrastructure of the park at a huge cost.

True. Right now or Immediate future. But Big CG's that want to stay competitive like KOA and the other big ones "Fighting" for a major foot hold on the market, Will Adjust and make the investment and up their prices. And Yes we will pay for it. I don't see ICE being banned in the US anytime soon, so You'll still have a market. But I've Always said and told my son, "Where one Industry is Created another one dies. The production of these vehicles is for 2020 on ward. We're commenting based on what we know NOW. Most likely by 2022-24 they'll have chargers incorporated in our Gennys and all we have to do is activate the genny as we're rolling down the road. Or have a more Advanced, dedicated solar panel on the roof, which recharges as one drives (not enough to recharge ALL the batteries or energy source, but enough to add 50 miles). I'm sure it's already in the works but everything will be more "refined" by then.

I might be a unique case. But I'm a 51 yr old that feels 68. I used to be able to drive 8-10 hrs sometimes 12. But I'm sorry, I can't stay in that seat that long anymore. Not with my back. So I cap it off at 6 hrs (around there).

I can see one being used by urban contractors and such. They may not normally drive over 250 or 300 miles a day. I am very skeptical that I'm going to see someone load up their 5th wheel in Florida and drive to the Utah parks or to Glacier NP using one. Unless they are idiots.

Even Tesla is finding out just how difficult it is to establish a network of high voltage charging stations, coast to coast. There are 114000 gas stations in the US even if you aim at building say 30,000 charging stations you are talking staggering amounts of money. The estimates I see are about $250,000 per station ignoring maintenance costs. So you are talking $7,500,000 building costs and say operating costs at least $300,000,000 to 500,000,000. And their stations take 30-45 minutes to charge a small battery Tesla.

Talk about massively increasing battery size while cutting charging time by 2/3rd would need a very high voltage charger. Do you want your average drive using a 1440V charger? Aka instant death.

If the Car manufacturer, with the help of Gov't, creates partnerships with the Energy (utility companies) Co's and the Oil Co's like they're doing in Europe it will work. BUT EVERYBODY has to be on board, not just one car Co. to fend for itself like tesla.

Owners can and will respond to market demands or they will go out of business. I don't think that anyone would expect 20,000watt service for free either so don't be afraid to ask for it. I already see extra charges for 50amp service. If any campground owner is making an upgrade or addition now they should consider going ahead and pulling the wires for the additional service. Transformers can be upgraded later as need picks up. You will need to upgrade anyway, I don't think it is just my imagination that campers are going more electric every year. My 2013 model has a household refrigerator, the comparable 2019 model also has an electric stove. I am pretty confident that electric heat is catching on as well.

Since this thread is about tow vehicles a campground could accommodate them by putting in a vehicle charging station. They might even snag some business from EV's just passing by. It would be easier and safer to operate than a propane station or a dump station. Put the charging station near the playground or anything else to do and you might be able to charge for that as well. Charging stations should be easy to expand so start with just a couple of stalls and expand from there as needed.

No "We" wouldn't, not unless you're a Popular mechanic subscriber or you do your own digging. I learned a ALOT of "stuff" in Afghanistan, that the Gov't tries to "Shield" us from and prefers us not to know. It doesn't always work, but I started noticing the results when I got back. I was amazed at some of the technologies that our coalition forces had, that they(other countries) had come up with in their "basements."
Like I mentioned before, much of the technology is out there, politics and gov't bureaucracy is what's holding much of it up. Europe already has 60K charging stations (23k in France alone). 11 More yrs and ICE's will be a thing of the past in Europe, by law. IN this Global economy Manufacturers are no longer "happy" to sell in their own country, they want to expand their reach and sell more, and our big 3 are no different, but if we don't "Adjust" our technologies we'll be caught with our pants down. Even now, what are the top selling EV's and Hybrids? Foreign makes. Our manufacturers are closing plants and phasing out models as we speak. We better replace them with something competitive REAL soon (instead of waiting and playing it safe to see what catches on and what doesn't). We used to be #1 because we took Risks, Now others are beating us to the punch.
Face it, most of the world love Mercedes and BMW's. When they get their hands on some money, THAT is what they buy(even when they're 10-15 yr old cars, lol), not cadillacs, or Lincolns. So we're already starting at a disadvantage. Stop looking at the glass half Empty.
