Additional Comment: One of the things we looked at (for years) was a trailer that was 100% functional with the slides IN. We looked for 10 years, not happy with any of them until we found the Outback 298RE. Although it's not ideal with the living room slides IN for watching television since you can't see the entire thing, but if you install one in the bed room, there's no problem there. The living room is squished, but still completely accessible to couch and chairs.
Ours came with a stand alone table and 4 chairs instead of the dinette. This also give us more room since we absolutely do not need an extra bed. We turned the table the opposite direction, put 2 chairs in the house, and switched sides where the couch and 2 rocker chairs sit. This gives a LOT more room in that living room area! We're debating about taking out the 2 rockers and putting in 1 normal house hold style recliner instead, but haven't done that yet.
The important thing is, at those places where the slides cannot be extended, the camper is still functional, everything (except one cabinet door under the sink that faces the living room) is accessible. We've now camped in it both ways to completely test the waters: slides in and slides out! Both work well with this trailer.
I'm just saying ... It's not that I don't REALLY love this camper or anything! Nah! I'm not bragging at all!
