Really appreciate the responses. Decided not to worry about the genset and buy a Hyundai HY2000si for those trips down to NoCal and points East.
Now my biggest concerns are COG and center of mass, and I hoping to take care of that issue with a front hitch-mounted rack.
I have not gotten up on the roof yet, but during my trial I intend to do a thorough inspection and shake-down.
