What you state makes sense until you want to run the microwave. There is not enough space in a truck camper to put in all the storage batteries and inverter to power a micro. I have both the Honda 2000 and solar power. I only use the Honda for 5-15 minutes to power the micro to heat my supper.

I am old enough to remember "pre-microwave" days. :) The only thing I can think of that you cant cook without a microwave is popcorn in the bag.
