I appreciate the realistic clarity. Your location gives weight to your arguments since the locale of the rig is similar to yours. This deal is happening east of the mountains, and is where the rig has sat when not used (better part of at least two years). Dried-out seals, both in the camper and the truck are a point of concern for me.
I will bring the rig over here west of the mountains for the one-month trial, where I have a 4WD shop just around the corner, as well as a shop of my own that is well-worn from working on diesel engines in my spare time. I might mention that my spare time has grown increasingly scarce. With that said, I am not interested in investing a whole lot of time or money into either, which is why I am insisting on a fairly lengthy shake-down. It is my understanding that the truck model/engine is pretty durable.
