Gotta. Hope they treat you right, sounds like you know the market there well enough to not give away your truck.
Ram may be offering higher incentives as well. They are pushing an older model where as Ford is new this year so sales are stronger.
But you may be spot on as I only looked at diesels so the price gap might be the higher cost. Best of luck and not knocking the Ram at all, I had very little issues with mine which was a third gen and considered “lower” quality compared to the 4th gen trucks selling now. Be sure your looking at 6.4 Hemis too, might as well have the most you can get if your taking the mileage hit!
My renter had a 6.4 Hemi (I think) that developed a rod knock so he got another bigger one (6.7) in a 2500 series RAM 4x4. Why I know the rear suspension is coils, I looked it over when he brought it home. He told me the gas mileage sucks. Not an issue so long as fuel prices stay reasonable. If gas goes to 4 bucks again, that could be a big issue.
I don't drive my OBS daily. I have a Ford Focus hatch with a 5 speed that gets between 39.5 and 40 consistently. Gets filled once a month, maybe.
Truck is a truck to me, so long as the suspension and underpinnings are up to the intended use. Just not a fan of coil springs, especially out back, where the load is.
Coils ride better, more 'car like' but it's a truck, not a Buick.
