New Ram 3500
Well I pulled the trigger today on a new Ram 3500 4x4 Limited. Pretty much like the one in my signature except has 29010 tow rating and 5680 cargo capacity, 9 speed tranny with 4.10s. Quite a bit more...

You must be referring to the Reese Elite for the Ford 5th Wheel prep group? There is no way to adapt from the Ford system to the Ram system or back again.
I have no idea what the ford takes...just know the Elite I have in my 12 Ram has a much smaller footprint than what the new 15 Ram has.
My Reese hitch, its basically the same hitch as yours, the head is the same. The Elite was formally the Signature series.The Signature is what I have. In my previous truck it was mounted on conventional bed rails in the bed. When I bought my new Ram with the factory prep , all I had to do was get the frame adapter that fit the factory prep ( Reese 30154 ) . My hitch then mounted to it.
Sounds like you got the factory prep in your new Ram, its a nice setup, but from reading about the Elite you are stuck, its either the under the bed mounting system again or a new hitch.
