I think it will be interesting to see what the Ram fan boys say about the CP4 pump.
Has the CP4 been a recent problem on the newer trucks? I remember the flurry of issues early on.. but it seems to have quieted down. That's just my impression, nothing more than anecdotal.
Just wondering if they "fixed" it, or if they're still ticking away, waiting to play "Pop goes the Diesel"?
I'm not in the market for at least a few more years, but I'd want to know before I put a chunk of cash down...
I don't know, you don't hear much about it anymore, but I haven't researched it either. The Duramax has been using the Delso since 2017 in the L5P. I believe they started using the CP4 in 2011. GM tended to cover the failures, Ford seemed less inclined which resulted in a lot of attention given to the problem. GM's switch to Delso may be a result of their failures with the pump or maybe Delso is .10 cents cheaper. The point I was making was many people cited the CP4 as a reason not to buy the GM or Ford depending what year was being discussed. With Ram apparently using the CP4, which someone here suggested would happen due to the CP3's inability to pump to high enough specs to gain more power, that is going to cause some guys to perhaps rethink their position on the matter.
