He said “removing EGR”, Exhaust Gas Recirculation. A press release put out by Cummins stated they were developing an engine that would no longer need EGR to meet pollution requirements. It would all be done in the exhaust system. They would still use DEF.
I hope we see this in the US someday soon. EGR is the Achilles heel of modern Diesel engines.
