And that's the point I was trying to make - the power among the 3 trucks are all more than sufficient.
In the end, it wasn't the power output and make or break towing capability. If GM wants to catch up (which as I said, they may not), then they need to revise their chassis.
Their current engine, as well as Ford and Ram, can handle a 35k trailer. We have to remember 400hp semi tractors have pulled over 100k lbs for decades. But the difference between them and a 3500 dually is chassis strength - a Volvo frame uses 130 ksi steel, with much higher section modulus. They can be up to 10x stronger than a pickup frame!
