My old '11 Charger had these features - passive keyless entry they call it.
The unlock is happening because your door handle (likely drivers side) is defective. My Charger went through 5 sets of door handles in the 3 years I owned it. There's a sensor in the handle that gets wet, and starts unlocking the doors randomly when the fob is near. You can turn it off using the menus via the touch screen. Contact your dealer and tell 'em you need new handles. Possibly the handle on the tailgate as well.
Another neat feature ... push and release unlock, and then push and hold it down - your front windows should roll down. My charger would only roll the windows down - if you wanted 'em up, you had to go out there. Dunno if they added remote up yet?
