The truck will not shut down at all.
If I park at the post office and run in to get the mail with the fob in my pocket, the truck stays running, but the "bing bing" alarm is heard, and the "key fob had left vehicle" message appears in the EVIC. I have never tried to put it in gear and drive with this message displayed.
That is interesting. I thought I read they worked similar to remote start. Seems like a big security hole.
Brings up a whole new way to carjack someone. Just scope out the lot in the mall and wait for the person to come back. Hop in the vehicle when the person is in range of the vehicle and take off. No need for a gun now.
You can't start the truck unless the fob is INSIDE the cab.
It will also only unlock the doors when the fob is within about 2 feet of the driver or front passenger door, and a hand reaches inside the door handle.
