New Ram SWR Tradesmen?

Anyone have any experience with these trucks?

I looked at them today and they seem to really be a bargain in the HD truck world.

I was looking at the Hemi 4x4 crew cab models and the price was around 35-36k

Pretty loaded up for what they were. PW, PDL, Cruise, Rearview camera, CD, 6 passenger seating. HD Vinyl seats (buckets!! Oh yeah!!)

I would love one of these used.. but finding good used HD trucks around here is like finding a golden goose.

Thanks!

Just found out that I can get a Cummins in the 13 Ram tradesmen 4x4 crew can for about 39k. Just about 3k more than the Hemi model.

Seats are vinyl but its got power windows, locks, tilt, cruise, back up camera, integrated brake control. Sounds like a no brainier. Now just to drive one.

Nice to see Ram offering up something for those who work with their trucks rather than just shine them. :) Several years ago when I bought my work truck I was wide open to all 3 brands, but when I stopped by the Dodge dealer they had nothing to show me (all loaded diesels) and the salesmen were clueless on how to handle commercial upfits and the like.

Wow that's strange, all dealers are required to have a person trained in commercial sales. Some are better then others but worst case they should have been able to get the info you needed. Didn't they have a brochure for the cab and chassis?

  • About 8 weeks ago I picked up a leftover 2012 Ram 2500 Bighorn Crew Cab Hemi 4x4 8' bed pretty well equipped. It had a sticker of price of $46,905 got it for $32,795. It had been sitting on the dealer's lot since July 2012.

I think this truck simply scared off many potential buyers. Up here on Long Island a 2500/3500 truck is not desirable unless you really need a HD truck. A truck with an 8 foot bed and a crew cab is less desirable because of its overall length of 22 feet.

I was reading that MY 2014 they have the new bigger 6.4 Hemi option, and hopefully a bigger gas tank :E

Thanks for the info! I may take the opportunity to save for the next 6-12 months for more downpayment money. I would really like one of these newer rams.

I also found a 2012 Ram 2500 Tradesmen with a Cummins for 36k. It looks like a good deal, and it only had 12k miles. Had the nice full crew cab.

    Thanks!

  • You could probably knock 6 or 7000 of that price just walking in the door. I found that at the end of the month and having excellent credit dealers will do most anything to keep you from walking away.

  • For me it is over priced. My '04.5 CDT Laramie QC cost that much. Guess I am really behind the times.
