It may not do any good, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.
From my experience a dealer will not warranty the tires from a new car nor the tires they would like to sell you either. My 11 150 came with goodyears and were almost bald within 12k. Talked to the dealer and they basically laughed at me....so I left there and went to a actual Goodyear shop and they prorated the tires on my truck that came from the factory. I got a new set for $360 which would of been close to $1000. So depending on the brand it may be worth the try.
