New tires for 09 GMC2500, need suggestions

You may need to wire in a battery disconnect on your truck. It will wipe out all your radio presets and may trigger the anti theft radio code, but may be easier than hauling the battery out when not being used.

Grit dog, the longest it's ever sat was 5 weeks, otherwise I go out there and try to drive it approximately 6 miles every month. Not an ideal set up
, but have no electricity for a charger on a continuous basis.

GM makes it about impossible to get that 80 lb battery out from behind the hinge of the hood. I'm not that strong.

Takeoff wheels and tires are a great bargain and could get any Dodge 18s or 20s. Idk what GM offered over 17" before switching lug pattern in 2011.

Agree though, if buying new, may as well order a set of 19.5s and be done with it if it's a dedicated camper hauler.

Ok, so you have an isolator, but park most anything for X number of months, especially through the winter and you have about an 80percent chance of a dead battery. No big deal, just a dead battery.
Except my old '74 jeep. That thing went 18mo once without being started and wasn't dead!
No need to get down on the setup for dead batteries. If you don't have power or can't run a wire outside for solar, pull the batteries, take them home and put on a maintainer.
Just what needs done. I rotate a maintianer, plus the shore power charger on the boat and camper charger all winter on the boat, camper, mowers, jeep, wheeler, whatever isn't getting run for a while.

The trailer pkg was a special order, and included camper/ 5er wiring plug. This took 2 different truck dealers to figure out how to install a fuse, so the camper battery would be charged by the truck alternator.

Only Fords have built in isolator, although some claim the new GM's do too? If you have an aftermarket isolator installed, we can eliminate the camper as the problem. You will still have parasitic loads in your truck. I keep a cheap 5w solar panel on my Ram dash to address the electrons that that escape while it sits.

Btw, it took about an hour to install the 1st Torklift Stable Load and 10 min to do the other side. And 9 months to find somebody, thanks to exhaustipated on this forum, who found me a truck service firm 5 miles from home. $92. I sure wish I would have had them last summer when Bedlam offered to do it free at the rally in MN.

In regards to a "battery separator located underneath the hood ".....are you sure that you have one? To my knowledge GM does not install one even with their camper/towing packages, unless you have had one installed.
Best to check and never assume anything. Bedlam's method is the fail-safe method of protecting your truck batteries.
