It is not only the proper trailer and truck combination that is important, it is the life style.

I lived happily with my dog and cat in a 400 sq ft suite in my house for the last 2 years. I was so glad to sell it and downsize to a condo. I didn't need nor want the rest of the 1,700 sq ft house so I rented it out. I just had a hot plate and bbq to cook on. I figured I could have lived in half that space happily. That was when I got the "tiny house" bug that led to RV/Trailer which made more sense to me.

I haven't towed anything, but I'm a slow-poke driver as it is.

I'm not going to travel much. Just tow the trailer to a spot for 3-6 or more months then pack up and move somewhere warmer/colder/nicer.

I've rebuilt a small engine carbureteur, change my own brakes, I do woodworking as a hobby, and can do minor home construction remodeling like install wood floors, tile, drywall, etc. Pretty handy.

I used to do that -- I'd fly in the winter to a winter apartment I had and then fly back when it warmed up.

My scuba-diving buddy and I are planning to rent a travel trailer in the Spring '17 and tow it to the Florida Keys for some diving/fishing, gives me a chance to try this out.
