New to travel trailer

to the OP : What is your trucks payload ( number on door sticker ) ? It's not all about power. Are your brakes , frame ,cooling system up to handling that trailer ?
Once you load up that truck with family , pets, toys ,firewood , generator etc , you could easily be overweight.

I would sell that P2 brake controller on Craigslist and get a real Ford controller. They are available on Ebay as well as many other outlets. Much better performance.

It would be nice if all could stay on the question asked.

Where did those figures come from? There are completely wrong. :h The Ecoboost has 365 HP at 5K.

Sorry you missed my point. I said take a (SMALL) engine, force feed it to have the HP/torque of a (BIG) engine. Force fed large diesels are not what I'm talking about. The 3.5 eco-boost is a fine (GAS) engine, just not for me.:W

If you're at the point of having to use a bathroom scale to weight the contents of your trailer, I'd humbly submit that more tow vehicle may be warranted.

I have the same floorplan w/o the rear bunk.
I would go to a scale and weigh it. Make sure you weigh each trailer axle to make sure you are not overloading two tires on one axle. Under inflation and overloading will cause tire issues.

Your trailers dry weight does not incl any options. Most TT options come in around 500#. Your personal stuff adds up real fast . Don't be surprised if you weigh it and find that you near 6000#.
Use a bathroom scale and weigh everything you bring into the trailer or load into the truck .
I would search the methods to "properly weigh a travel trailer."

The eco 3.5 has pretty much proven itself, and I think has been a great tower. I'm just not one to take a small engine (force feed it) to do the job of a big engine. I've seen motorcycle engines, and snowmobile engines that were made more powerful, that actually out performed the larger engines, but only for a short period of time.

My son has a 3.5 eco-boost, and loves it. I guess I'm just old school, but I still like a V8, such as the 6.2 in my 250.
