Thanks everyone for all the valuable input. Just to give you all an update I ended up purchasing a 2017 Crossroads Sunset Trail 290QB for $23k. I purchased out of state and now waiting on delivery!!
I've be prepared to do a full inspection of all systems before signing anything, the driver can wait or come back later for you to sign the papers. You may also want to consider finding a local mobile RV mechanic, see what they'd charge to do the inspection if you're not comfortable doing that yourself.
