New to us 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins..so long Hemi, its been fun.
Hi All:
After reading the many posts on this forum, and contemplating new TV's, today we brought home our new to us TV....a 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Crew Cab w/ 6.7L Cummins. We enjoyed our 2011 Ram 2500 Laramie CC w/ Hemi (4.10 rear) but it was starting to have issues, and DW was on board with a new TV.
I first fell in love with diesels with our now sadly-returned VW TDI w/ 6spd manual (yes, it was part of the whole emissions scandal), and was salivating at the idea of getting a Cummins.
Anyway, I considered another Hemi, and even downsizing to a 1/2 ton, but with kids now leaving the nest, we wanted the flexibility to go to a bigger TT or moderate 5'er, and better mileage. FYI - I averaged 12MPG around town in the Hemi, 14mpg on the highway at 65mph. On the trip home today through rolling country roads, I was averaging 21mpg. wow!
So very excited to be back in an oil burner (well, sort of. My VW was more like an oil sipper).
Thanks all for the posts and advice. Hope you are all building plenty of 2018 camping memories!
Doug
