Lol, hey, if you can swing it without putting yourself in financial hardship, i say go for it! You only live once and tomorrow isn't guaranteed. We work too hard for a living to not drive a truck you really like.
That was my situation with the Chevy. It was a good truck. Nothing wrong with it, but to have to spend $1200 on trailer tow mirrors, $900 on better tires and then still have a 1/2 ton truck, when my wife and i already had a major investment in that truck really bothered me.
I settled for and compromised what i really wanted when i got the Chevy (wanted a white 3/4 ton HD), so i figured if we can do this, by God's grace, go for it.
My dad got sick with lou gehrigs disease at 48, died when he was 55. 48 is a lot closer for me now than it was years ago so that was part of this decision as well.
Within reason, you have to do what makes you happy and enjoy life. You can't take it with you.
