So bought a new Keystone Cougar 22RBS on 8/30/19. Not first trailer but first new. Show up a week later to pick it up and find numerous problems, the worst being a defective front window. Seems as if the plastic? sandwiched between the glass has bubbled so bad that the whole window looks like it is wet with rain drops. The thing is when we saw it the first time it was raining so it looked normalOn pick up day the shade was closed so I didn't notice until we were about to accept it. The service guy doing the walkthrough says. "I had no idea but it will be covered by warranty". How do you prep a trailer and not notice the whole window is defective?So here I am 2 weeks later and the trailer is still at the dealer waiting to hear what the mfg is going to do. No estimate as to when a new window will be shipped and when it will be installed. So I am paying for the trailer, paying for insurance and paying for storage for a trailer I don't have. They tried to get me to take it home but I refused. Any ideas on my next step? I have spoken to the general manager but he has not helped.How do you prep a trailer and and overlook things like: TV antenna doesn't work, no hubcap on one wheel, Mismatched lug nuts, no caps on rear bumper, not washed, broken shade, and defective window that they tried to hide,Thoughts?

Sorry but you violated rule number two. No money until you inspect and all items are fixed. Start calling the manufacturer...polite, factual, repeatedly.

To put it bluntly, NO way in hell would they be charging for **** that I am not responsible for. Is is a done deal with your bank, credit union or whatever? This kind of stuff makes my blood boil. If it's a done deal, not looking good for you but then again if you didn't take delivery you may have some recourse. I have a DH putting pressure on me to sell our perfect TC because we have a tt now but not going to agree to nothing until I know the new acquired tt is good. Good Luck!

It is easy to blame the first time purchaser for the overlooked issues. You went into this purchase thinking that the dealer would quickly do the right thing and now you experienced reality. Don't blame yourself on missing these things, you probably had faith in your fellow man.What to do? The dealer has you over the barrel and knows that you will never be a customer again, so he couldn't care less. There is little chance that the deal can be reversed, but just push the issue till he can't stand it. Contact the factory and tell them that the trailer is not fit for delivery.

I would check with your local better business office or a lawyer you've only had ownership about 17 days you might have a money back policy in your favor. it would be worth checking.

Had a friend with a bad toilet in a new camper, in a similar situation. Dealer said they were waiting on the part. My friend walked around the dealers sales yard on a Saturday telling potential customers about how he had been waiting a month to get his brand new camper fixed. Some how the dealer found the part in the shop and got him fixed in an hour.

Two weeks and the possibility for more. as it sounds like they don't even have parts to fix it. i'd call that a little more than a big deal. I would talk to the manager again and mention that you want your money back and that your going to contact an attorney, see what that does to the conversation.

No reason for the manufacturer to get involved, you bought the trailer from the dealer not the factory.

Unfortunately the deal was made before we arranged the pdi and pick up. We were forced to wait because no one was writing insurance policy’s because of the pending hurricane that never happened. So here we are. I should never have completed the deal before we were able to do the final inspection.

Do you think the mfg will help get this resolved sooner?
