First time parking the new TT and the only 1 month old TV - bumped the front bumper of the TV on my tractor by the barn because I was so busy concentrating on the TT behind me. Big Chrome bumper with one little fish-eye dimple prominently displayed...oh well.....
When people ask, say:"Yeah, I meant to do that. Like it?" - deshattExplorerPulling my trailer out of storage this year I caught the awning on the corner of the rain gutter of a building in the storage lot. I was trying to avoid a truck and boat coming in and wasn't thinking about the overhang of the building's roof. It tore a 4 inch "V" shaped hole in the awning. I had only used the awning 3 times since having it replaced by insurance after a storm destroyed it last season (don't forget to angle one side of the awning in case of rain). That's life I guess, what can you do!
- fairfaxjimExplorerTwo trips ago I felt a bump and heard a thump and looked in the right side mirror just in time to see the front awning arm swing out wide and fall off! Seems the right lane is crowned in towards the sidewalk and the utility pole is tilted a bit out towards the lane. Awning and gutter rail a total loss! Fortunately very little other damage.
It seems I'm not the only one to hit that pole, the street side of it is literally ground flat from trucks, busses, and oh yeah, trailer awnings hitting it. Of course I didn't see the "NO TRUCKS RIGHT LANE" signs just before that spot.
When I went to clean the smudge off the side, the plastic from the awning fabric was literally vulcanized onto the fiberglass from the heat and pressure generated then the pole suddenly slid the awning rearward. It was melted to the trailer side. - SprinklerManExplorerI buy my trucks and trailers , used , I make sure they are pre scratched or pre dented . It not a matter of if its going to happen , only when .
- m4reelExplorerI know a guy who thought he had enough height to clear a log with his bumper while backing up solo. He had enough room for the bumper... but not for the gray water waste line. Cost him $500 in repairs for the pipe and crushed propane fitting. I hear he had to make up a crazy story about wild animal gangs, vandalizing the trailer in the middle of the night or something, to explain to the DW how it possibly could have happened.
- fallsriderExplorerI know a guy who was pulling his 8' wide TT through his 9' wide gate opening. Got a little too close on the street side, and broke the top of a slat off the fence. Fortunately, the only damage to the TT was a small scuff mark on the rear corner trim. I hear that it hurt his pride a little. :)

- BubbaChrisExplorerI know it is possible to "customize" the decals on the front of your TT if you lean an extension ladder against it while trying to wash/polish it. ;-)

I whip the steering wheel to the right and he does also and we miss.
However, the back of the TT went more to left then I had planned, nailing the steel post full of concrete putting a nice 12 inch long dent in the side of the TT.

Yea, that sounds good, I would stick with that story. It was THAT MANIACS FAULT! - 93Cobra2771ExplorerI saw a guy cave in the rear quarter of a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee that was parked parallel to the access road. The guy was trying to cut into his parking spot and forgot to allow for tail wag on the trailer.
A piece of corner trim and the aluminum around the rear bumper were my-I mean his-only casualties on the camper. JGCherokee wasn't so lucky.
