With the slide in, the TT is better sealed against the outside elements. You have a rubber flap between you ant the outside when the slide is open and a solid rubber gasket making contact around the entire slide when the slide is in.

Look at the bottom edge from inside when your slide is out, then decide.

Many people say that they can manually deploy slides, but in my case, I don't see how do do that.
