New Trailer

We are now upgrading from our PUP to a new 2014 leftover Jayco Jay Feather X18D. This unit should fit us better. 3 tip out bunks will make it more comfortable for the kids and the hard side will comfort the wife and the wide open windows in the bunks will open it up for me ??. The AC while I'm not a big one for using AC we have had to cut trips short because of son's asthma so this may help there. We are real excited. Loved the PUP but had some issues with the roof and just not a good fit for us. That unit is now fixed and for sale. New unit to be picked up after some of the mountainous snow piles melt away.
  • Congrats!
we are currently on a 6 week camping trip, in our hybrid.
We've been in NorCal and currently camping on SoCal beaches.
this is our 8th year with it and it may be our last.
we're now retired and a hybrid isn't the best for our changing lifestyle.
but it has been the perfect choice up to now.
  • I hear Spring has been cancelled for New England....

Congratulations on your new purchase! We've had a lot to learn and this forum has been very helpful. Nothing beats the advice from experienced campers.

We're currently in Florida for a month, escaping Maryland's cold weather. Our Kodiak 160 SVT is quite comfortable. It's a good thing we brought an extra quilt, though! It's gotten downright nippy.

    Happy camping!
  • Thanks everyone. We signed the dotted line today. Now to wait for spring whenever that will be.
  • We purchased our first trailer today (we used to tent camp but are completely new to the camper world) and we are so excited! We got a Flagstaff Shamrock 233S. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your PUP and thought a hybrid was a good choice!
  • Welcome to the mix. I hope you enjoy your rig as much as we have enjoyed ours.
  • I can't even see my hybrid, and my ladders are under 3 feet of snow behind the garage so I can't even dig it out even if I wanted to brave the dramatically sub-zero wind chill.
  • Congrats on the new camper. DW and I have had our X18D for two years now and Love It! Have had no issues with it. Recommend Pop Up Gizmos on the bunk ends, really does make a difference inside no matter what time of the year it is. We also found out that a WDH/anti sway bars do help a lot. We bought the Equalizer 4 point WDH and I am very happy with it. Again, congrats on the new camper.
  • Welcome. I upgraded last fall from a PUP to a older Jayco Kiwi. Only got a couple of weekends in before camping season over. Patiently awaiting spring.
    Enjoy your new TT
