So we have outgrown the Wolf Creek. It's been trouble free and 90 nights for the past two year, but my boys are just too big for comfort anymore.Looking at the monster TC's and would like some advice. The Host Mamoth is high on the list, but none are near me to look at. The Lance 1172 is tempting but tank capacities are lame for the size of it. I like the optional bunk in the slide out too. Eagle Cap I have read quality went down hill. Advice?Looking at the F350 or maybe the Duramax. Love my Ram so it's a contender too. I think I'd be happy with any of them, not brand loyal as I've had good luck with all three brands, but I think the GM has the lowest payload rating but as you can tell from my signature I can fix/live with the numbers. I'm surprised there isn't a Host on the lot somewhere within a couple hours of you (not knowing where you reside in Oregon). The factory is in Bend and we did a tour before our purchase. zb39 ordered one in Dec. of 2016 and took delivery this spring. That's what started the 40 pages of questions, mods and pictures. It's pretty current with an update in regards to a small dealer fix just posted by Bedlam.

Even when I drove 40' conversion, I was carrying tents for boys ... just saying. I was researching new multislide TC and what scares me are the "stairs to heaven"I like side entrance Lance and can deal with smaller tanks, while my F350 is handling it just fine. I think for Host you are looking at F450 or F550. I would also consider keeping old TC and buy small TT.

You might be looking at an F450.Bill

F450 is no problem. But it shows as 500 lbs less carry capacity than a F350, which is funny with a truck with 19.5's on it from the factory. Tells me that I will go off tires and axle limits as usual. I have no personal issue going over considering what I have now, spec wise. Really though, I'm not interested in putting the boys in tents in the weather we camp in (hint, we camp year round and fish year round so we are in rain/snow often). I also need the ability to tow my boat, so the TT won't work as I don't want to take two rigs everywhere we go. Thanks though.We are a young family so stairs don't bother us, in fact my truck with 36" tall tires is quite the leap up as is!
