New truck batteries

Sad thing the Interstates I bought at Costco are Made in Mexico.

IMO ,pick your brand. Walmart has as good a warranty as any for the cost of their batteries. 3 year free replacement ,and another 2 years prorated . 5 years for at least some type of replacement .

The last Kirkland in my wife's Acura MDX went completely dead at about 5 years of age when the alternator went out. About 6 months later I noticed the car turning over slowly when starting; I bought a new Kirkland battery and took the old one in to get my core charge and was told at the counter that I still had warranty on it. It was a very nice surprise when I received almost 50% back of what the new battery cost me! :B

Its been awhile since we have had the Kirkland brand batteries here in the states. They are Interstate batteries now. I wish they were still the Kirklands, but have yet to try the Interstates. I have a pair of Kirklands in my fifth wheel that are just over 10 years old ,and still going strong.

Replaced my OE batteries in my 2014 Ram a couple months ago with the Walmart Everstarts , time will tell. :) Our local Costco did not carry the 94R for the Ram 3500 trucks, was told they don't always carry every size .

From what I hear some of these really good battery warranties are now a figment of your imagination. Having said that I was at the Ford parts department a while back and noticed they now sell their own Autonation labeled batteries with 3 different warranty levels with one of them having a "lifetime" warranty.

I will say that the Motorcraft batteries from the parts department and the Excide batteries I used in my boat don't last as long as they used to.

If you do not have a common battery size, vehicle, finding older batteries may not be uncommon, even in a higher volume store.
I'm on 5+ years on a mid level from oriellys in my 2500.
Hit 12-13 years on a dual purpose size 24 in my sailboat.
West Marine carries east Penn batteries labeled as theirs. They really only carry what I would call RV/marine use sizes. 24, 27, 31, 4d, 8d and the typical 2-3 6v sizes. Agm, lead and a few gel sizes.

That applies to ANY store that sells batteries. Costco / Sam's club are such high volume stores, I'd expect their batteries to be fresher than anywhere else. Every time I've looked at the Costco batteries, the batteries are no more than two months old.

Of course, but that is why I posted the information. I would have expected better from Sam Club.
