New Truck

Well, the Frontier was getting a bit long in the tooth and we were always traveling with max payload. So went looking at Colorados because I still like the midsize trucks. However, the actual payloads were only 200 lbs more than the Frontier.
On a whim, I drove a new 2018 Silverado demo and ended up taking it home. Almost 1800 lbs of payload. Setting up the hitch, it dropped 1” in the rear and raised only 3/8” in the front. The manual says to return 1/2 the distance to the front. Gonna take some real tweaking to get that 3/16” back.
First trip will be just after Christmas going to St. Augustine. Also looks like I won’t need extension mirrors, either.
On a side note, found one of the Maxxis had a big ole hole in the tread. Bought Endurances and new rims. After swapping them out, another of the Maxxis was close to blowing. The tread was really distorted. At least they didn’t blow out on the road and died here at home. They were 5 years old and I was gonna get new tires this winter, anyway.
