The first night in our new TT the CO alarm was making strange noises. I am a Firefighter and we go to CO alarm calls all the time, so I am familiar with how they operate, this was not in alarm mode, and it was not the batteries. I believe it to be defective, I just took it down, and replaced with a new one, no issues since. CO exposure is nothing to mess around with, be sure you have a properly operating detector; typically their operating life is around 5 years.
