As others say read your manual and follow their recommendations. They supply your new vehicle warranty not what someone or other mfg say.
FWIW, (not much) I agree with you.
Engines are built in near clean room conditions and the extra metal that was present from the manufacturing process in the old days is a thing of the past.
I run new engines right up to the prescribed interval (or what the computer tells me) and it doesn't hurt a thing.
