New Year - New RV - A Travel Trailer

For the last 8+ years my wife and I have enjoyed using our Class C motorhome. But both our vacations and needs have changed and we have decided that what we want to get (in place of the Class C) is a Travel Trailer. Just going to be the two of us and our two little dogs.

We did a little local on-line looking and found the Evergreen Ever-Lite trailers. The build quality / design looks very appealing. And there are several of the floor plans that we really like. THEN we discovered that they went out of business recently.

The fact that the manufacturer is no longer in business does not bother us. In fact, we think it might present a buying opportunity, especially for the couple of new units that we have found on dealers lots. (Price discussions to happen later this week hopefully.)

But we are trying to find something to compare these two. I must admit that the world of Travel Trailers seems pretty dizzying to someone just stepping into it!

We like the design features and higher-end finish of the Evergreen. So are there any specific brands / product lines that we should investigate as an alternative to Evergreen Ever-lite?

Thanks!

Martin
  • I bought an Evergreen Last year and they went out of business 2 months later. This is our 3rd trailer. We have camped in it 10 times already and it's been a good camper so far. If you like their floor plan and can get a really good deal on one I wouldn't hesitate to make the purchase. All the appliances and A/C, Jacks, Awning and such have there own 3 year warranty. You just don't get one for build quality. Mine seems to be very well built. Hope this helps.
  • The limiting factor, of course, is your tow vehicle. What are you driving?

Also, do you want something for four season camping (including snow)?

    Do you boondock?

How many days of camping will each trip involve?

These are just some of the factors that influence the choice of a trailer.

Good luck, and keep asking questions!!
  • Also love our Lance. Looked at the Arctic Fox's but didn't think the layouts fit our lifestyle, thus Lance it was. Whatever you decide, get a floorplan that fits your lifestyle!
  • We also liked the Lance, but decided on a new Arctic Fox...
It had more storage, more carrying capacity, and more counter space.
Built in Oregon...We are more than happy with ours.

    Northwood (Arctic Fox)

    Good luck with your search....
  • If you want to drive a few hours there is a rv show in Shreveport on the 20-22 if you have questions I can help you with
