Newbie Looking For The Right Trailer

I thought I would do things differently, for a change.

Do things in my personal reverse.

Ask for advice BEFORE diving in feet first. Eh? Yes, I am a male.

So.....love camping...tired of setting up tents and tarps and sleeping on the ground. Tired of walking 200 meters in the rain to take a dump in a filthy toilet facility. YUCK.

I've decided to buy a travel trailer.

Criteria:

24' total length
No slides
No hybrid tent pop ups
Tandem axle

I've looked at, I dunno...75 trailers in and around Central Ontario. Some nice floor plans but some really cheap finishes and poor workmanship.

One trailer that has caught my eye...but I have yet to see in person.. is the Northwood Nash 17K. This trailer fits all my criteria and adds some I didn't know I needed.

Please...opinions on this idea of mine.

Thank you.

There is a lot more to a TT than floorplan. Unless you are going to park it and not tow it, renting a simlar size and weight unit is a very smart move.

Pulling on of these ore barges, parking it, paying for gas and driving 60 mph is best experienced before the big bucks are spent.

I'm not new to towing trailers.

So yes, the floor plan might be important to me.

  • No experience here. But this web site gives examples of complaints, and a few good reviews. This is a complaint web site, so expect there to be far more complaints than complements.
  • Watch them carefully for a full 60 by 80 long queen bed. If you are tall, the short 74 or 76 bed is just horrible. Was a real unknown downfall for us when we got one.

Rent one or 2 and see if you like them.

Can't even buy a Northwood here, let alone rent one.

JMO but I'd see more advantage to the only slightly longer and slightly heavier ***Link Removed*** which offers a walk around queen bed.

Thank you for that. Darn it.

Something else that also looks good and fits my criteria.

    Now I have choice.

BUT...overall opinion of Northwood as a manufacturer?

Reviews on trailer companies can be quite damning.

JMO but I'd see more advantage to the only slightly longer and slightly heavier Arctic Fox 22G which offers a walk around queen bed.
