NEWBIE-SWAY CONTROL

My wife and I are planning to begin fulltiming within the next two months, We plan to pull a Grand Design 2500RL gvrw of 7500#'s with a 2014 Ford Expedition 4x4 Limited with their heavy duty tow package. My original research led me to the Equalizer WD hitch but my recent readings have me considering the Hensley Arrow or ProPride.
First am I asking to much of the Expedition. Then any thoughts on hitches would be appreciated.

Thanks
Uncle Jae
  • In truth. The 5.4 is a tough engine and toes great. And if you have the 3.73 Your weight is well inside your capacitys
  • Weights aside, that's a lot to ask of the underpowered 5.4 they put in to those expiditions. I tow 7600 pounds with a hemi, and would never consider long term with it, in fact, i'm shopping for something bigger now. I'm sure it tows it just fine, but when you start putting thousands of miles on it , hudnreds of miles a day, you're going to likely hate it. Like, really hate it. And that's before you even look at weights. My trailer just about maxes out my pickup, so I can't imagine you not being right at limit, or even over with what you're talking weights wise. I'd urge you to look into a pickup, even a halfton , the f150's seem to be the rage with towing these days, and will likely cost less than, or just as much as your expo.
  • What is the payload and max hitch weight for the Ford? What weight will you carry in the SUV? Loaded and wet what is the TT's tongue weight?
